Telepresence
The term ‘Telepresence’ widely refers to the set of technologies which permits the person to experience as if he were present or to give the manifestation that he were present or having that consequence like his presence at the location other than where he was practically present. Telepresence involves that sense of its users and is provided with such motivations for giving the experience of being present in that other location in question.
Moreover, the user of TelePresence may be provided with the ability to affect the distant location. Accordingly the user’s position, his movements, actions, voice etc may well be sensed or transmitted or say duplicated at the remote location for developing that effects. Thus it is assumed that the information travels in both the directions between the user and the distant location. In short TelePresence is the matter of degree.
For instance, watching the television programs, though it replicates our basic sense of vision and sound, seldom it gives feeling that the viewer is no longer sitting at home though virtually he is very much there. Tele Presence emphasizes on the user interacting with another live, actual place even while he is remote from the virtual presence, where the user is given the feeling of his presence in the replicated milieu.
